our wine philosophy or simply good personal experience
or preference. This list is HIGHLY SUBJECTIVE
and PERSONAL, but if you agree with our thinking,
these links will be useful and of high value.
In all instances, these links are for your information.
We accept nor receive commissions, nor any other forms

Vins-Rhône
This is an outstanding resource centre for anyone
interested in the wines of the Rhône Valley.
France
Bound
If you plan to travel in France, contact France Bound,
especially if you would like to rent a property while
you are in France. We are very satisfied customers
of France Bound.
Provence
Web
A comprehensive site covering all aspects of life
in the six departments that make up the region of
France known as Provence Côte d'Azur.
Wine
Lovers Page
One of many sites that promote broad understanding
of wine to consumers of all levels of interest.
This one is the most comprehensive and interesting
to my mind.

Riedel
Crystal
My favourite wine glasses are the Riedel Vinum series.
Great value! Buy them in Toronto at The Wine
Establishment or William Ashley fine china.
And yes, glasses do make a difference to your enjoyment
of wine!
Alliance
Française de Toronto
L'Alliance is a world-wide organization with almost
1100 chapters in 138 countries. Each year 350,000
students of all ages use the services of the Alliance.
I have been a student of L'Alliance for the past two
years.
Relais
Medici
Our favourite Paris Hotel (especially in August 2003
during the 40 degree heat wave... this 16 room hotel
is air-conditioned!). Relais Medicis is on the
Left Bank, immediately adjacent to the Odeon, so if
you are a Right Bank person, this is not for you.
For most people, this is a great Paris resting place,
either on the way to Avignon, or on the way back.
Stay on the garden side: you will never sleep better
in a big city, anywhere in the world, and the prices
are more modest than on the street side!!
Alibris
This site is an outstanding source for out-of-print
books. alibris.com is a portal for booksellers
around the world and has a very reliable search capability.
Many of the books are brand new and while most are
used, among the used books there is often a wide selection
of copies available for given title. The site
lists the condition and price of each copy so you
choose both price and quality from descriptions provided
on the site. This may not have the appeal of
the hunt through narrow aisles in dark antiquarian
bookshops - it is much more effective though!

Nat
Decants
This
is the web-site of Natalie MacLean, an Ottawa-based
wine writer, speaker and wine judge. She is noted
as a witty, knowledgeable student of all things related
to wine. Her writing has been recognized widely and
she is the recipient of numerous, prestigious awards.
She publishes a weekly newsletter that informs and
entertains on topics of diverse wine interest –
subscribe, it’s free!
